The ancient Egyptians built incredible monuments that still stand today. The Great Pyramid is as tall as a 40-story building and was made from over 2 million stone blocks! Pharaohs were the god-kings who ruled this land, and when they died, their bodies were wrapped up as mummies to preserve them forever.

These clever people invented a picture-writing system called hieroglyphs, used makeup and perfume, and even had the first known peace treaty in history. They worshipped over 2,000 different gods and goddesses!
