In 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led one of America's greatest adventures - mapping the unknown western lands all the way to the Pacific Ocean! President Thomas Jefferson sent them to explore the huge Louisiana Purchase territory that doubled the size of the United States.
The expedition's greatest hero was Sacagawea, a brave 16-year-old Shoshone woman who guided them through dangerous mountains and rivers while carrying her baby son on her back! She helped the team communicate with Native American tribes, find food, and navigate through the wilderness.

For over two years, the Corps of Discovery traveled 8,000 miles through uncharted territory. They discovered 178 new plants, 122 new animals, and drew the first accurate maps of the American West. They even found dinosaur fossils and documented everything in detailed journals!
