Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is like a giant stone dragon stretching across China's mountains and deserts! This incredible wall is so long that if you could straighten it out, it would wrap around our entire planet more than twice. Built over 2,000 years ago by millions of workers, it's the longest structure ever built by humans.

Chinese emperors built this amazing wall to protect their kingdom from enemy armies. Workers carried millions of heavy stone blocks up steep mountains using only simple tools, ropes, and incredible teamwork. The wall has tall watchtowers where soldiers could spot enemies coming from far away, and it's wide enough for five horses to ride side by side!

Today, millions of people from around the world visit the Great Wall every year. You can walk on the same stones that ancient Chinese soldiers once marched across. Some parts of the wall are crumbling with age, but many sections have been carefully restored so future kids can experience this wonder too.
