The Pyramids of Giza are like giant stone triangles rising from Egypt's sandy desert! These incredible monuments are over 4,500 years old, making them older than any other famous landmark in the world. The biggest pyramid is as tall as a 40-story building and was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, an ancient Egyptian king.
Ancient Egyptians built these amazing structures using over 2 million stone blocks, each one weighing as much as a car! Workers had no machines, cranes, or trucks - they moved these huge stones using only ramps, ropes, and incredible teamwork. Scientists still wonder exactly how they managed to build something so perfect and massive with simple tools.
The pyramids were built to protect pharaohs in the afterlife, filled with gold, jewelry, and everything the kings would need in their next life. Today, the mysterious Great Sphinx guards the pyramids with its lion body and human head, watching over this ancient wonder.
